Anxiety is a very common human emotion, but learning to cope with it is essential in preventing it from interfering with your life. It is often not the anxiety, but the avoidance of distressing triggers that interrupts our ability to engage in activities and keeps us stuck. This can be frightening, isolating, and debilitating in some cases. Through therapy, you can identify your unique triggers, become more familiar with techniques that allow you to navigate the feelings, restructure unhelpful thinking patterns, and essentially become more comfortable being uncomfortable. Learning to sit with your feelings; accepting them as safe, temporary, and separate from you; and choosing not to avoid difficult situations, will lower your distress, lessen anxiety, and allow you to re-engage in the life you wish to life.
Learning to manage your anxiety takes time, but you don't have to travel the journey alone. I am passionate about helping you re-structure your thoughts, build skills, and improve your distress tolerance. With some time and supported effort, you can begin to enjoy embarking on the things that will give your life meaning and fulfillment.
