I'm passionate about helping you overcome the barriers that keep you from engaging and thriving in the life you envision. No matter how broken we feel at times, we all have strengths upon which to build. Pain and difficult emotions are part of the human experience, but the story does not stop there! Learning to cope with challenging emotions and situations and engaging in goal-oriented behavior, allow us to build upon our strengths and thrive in the throes of the imperfect and overwhelming circumstances that arise. I believe that life is a journey, not a destination. Though the journey will be filled with a myriad of blessings and struggles, having the skills to navigate the terrain, find meaning in the process, and grow in your sense of self are essential to healing and living your authentic life.
I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2015 with a masters degree in clinical social work and an additional concentration in school social work. I have provided therapy to people of all ages. My work in schools gave me expertise in the needs of adolescents, particularly those who require special education services, and their families. Additionally, I have vast experience conducting psychiatric assessments in an emergency room setting where I thrived in nurturing hope for patients while developing plans for treatment and support. In my private practice, I'm able to further that support by utilizing evidence-based practices to help clients cope with and mitigate their symptoms, build distress tolerance, and achieve momentum toward realizing their therapeutic goals. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Trauma Therapy.
While I do not conduct family or couples therapy, I will encourage you to include family members in sessions to support the therapy process. This allows them to learn more about your condition, your treatment, and how they can support you. I'm passionate about the positive role that your loved ones can play in your progress.
I strive to create a therapeutic environment of inclusivity and respect for all people regardless of race, color, culture, religion, spiritual practice, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. I see clients ages 15 through adulthood.
I believe that at the heart of effective therapy, is rapport built upon trust, genuine caring, and partnership. You are the expert on you! I want to collaborate with you to identify your values, difficulties, and strengths. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) methods, and mindfulness strategies along with a strengths-based approach.
Our work together will be tailored to meet your unique needs and to further the journey to achieving your goals. My first priority is to help you feel supported in a compassionate, genuine, and judgement-free manner so you can regain the power in your life!
